I am 8 days out from Chemo #3, with good news! My platelets are recovering on their own for the first time since late May! Low platelets have locked us out from immunotherapy and other procedures. They doubled; then they doubled again!! This is HUGE and the first piece of good news we have had since late May. Our family and the Rise for Lauren community are rejoicing. This is the first step to getting my body ready to continue with the immunotherapy that was working so well earlier this year.
The last 30 days have been a crazy roller coaster. I spent a large portion of them drooling on the couch while family and friends rotated in to help with my beautiful, resilient little girls. I miss being the one to take care of them SO MUCH! These girls are my “why”, my motivation. I can’t wait to get back to focusing on raising them.
We have a few more new symptom hurdles to work through (ironically from the Chemo), such as rapid abdominal fluid build-up. As soon as we get that under control, back to my remission-focused treatment I go!!
Spirits are high today.
