Every set back is an opportunity
My most recent PETscan has shown that the current set of cocktails (first line treatment) are no longer working. While this is disappointing, it is also a huge opportunity for me to pursue more innovative treatments.

Update: Treatment
The treatment I was on was FDA approved in 2017, which means that it’s been the standard of care for 7 years, but the trials and technology likely make the science 15+ years old (I’m guesstimating on this).
If I can go after an integrative medicine provider outside of the U.S., I can try treatments not available in the U.S. at ALL. Or, I can pursue a clinical trial in the U.S., but it will likely require extensive and frequent travel. The final option is standard of care 2nd line treatment, which doesn’t sound appealing to me.
If I want to beat the odds, then I need to both stay ahead of AND look outside of the current regimented system. I can not be just another number. My next step needs to take into account my personal profile, not just “standard of care for those with a diagnosis that looks like mine.”
THAT is my next step. While I will confess that my family and I are feeling all the feels of the disappointing setback, my resolve has not and will not waver. I can do this, and I will!
