I Hiked Straight into a Wall

Last Sunday, I hiked straight into a wall — metaphorically and physically.

I was thrilled to be on a weekend adventure with my family, but I pushed too hard. Since then? Totally immobile. Crutches are back in the game.

MRI this morning confirmed nothing is broken (thank god), but the pain? Still brutal. Six days flat on my back, wrestling with frustration and surrender.

This ride is a full-blown roller coaster. And right now, it’s one of those steep dips that makes your stomach flip. But I’ve got my eyes locked on the long game — raising my girls, rocking on a porch swing with my gray-haired husband, soaking in clean mountain air.

I’ll find my way back to standing. Until then, me and these dusty crutches are getting reacquainted.

With hope & love,
